Tips For Teen Girls
Hi, my name is SoVi. I am 13 years old.
These are some helpful tips for being a girl today.
I know that being a teen at this time is frustrating because of boys, and friends, and sooooo much drama, and the race for popularity.
You might think you need makeup to look beautiful or to wear revealing clothes so you can get boys to look at you, but you don't need to do that.
Natural beauty is everything.
Makeup only 'pops out' what you naturally have.
You don't need to wear revealing stuff because that's sending the wrong message. It's advertising the wrong thing (some of you will know what I'm talking about; it's okay if you don't yet) and you're going to attract the wrong crowd.
I know that popularity means everything in today's society at school, but being popular is a lot of work. It can also mean having to not be 'you', which is not ok.
Some people don't know who they actually are because they have been 'acting' (being kind-of fake) for a long time. They feel pressured to do cool stuff, always wear what's trending, and they always have to be what the group wants instead of who they are.
If you are popular and you say, 'I'm not fake', I want you to think honestly. Have you done things you didn't want to do but you did them anyway just so you could stay popular? Or, have you changed something about yourself or act a certain way just to be popular?
Being popular isn't always that good.
Because they have to do certain things to stay in the 'in' group, popular kids sometimes get into drugs, vape, feel pressured to send risky pictures, make-out, or treat some kid meanly because they are scared to be 'uncool'.
Again this does not go for all popular kids, but it does for a lot of them.
It's okay to be who you really are. Don't change yourself just to fit in.
Be yourself.
Like what you like.
Do what you enjoy.
Like WHO you like.
And be able to say NO.
See your worth. Don't wish to be someone else because you never know what that person is dealing with inside. They could be pretty messed up but really good at hiding it.
Everyone has some issues they are dealing with. Their life isn't any better than yours.
Love who YOU are. Want to be YOU and live YOUR life... Not someone else's.
Real friends won't make you do something that you don't want to do or something that will get you in trouble. They will always be there for you and they should make you feel like you could tell them anything. You won't have to be embarrassed in front of them and, no matter what happens, they will always forgive you and stand by your side.
Don't trade a real friend for popularity or 'likes' because real friendship is rare.
Have you ever heard, 'You're your own worst critic'?
You judge yourself worse than anyone else ever could.
Why focus on your flaws?
Focus on your natural awesomeness and be your one unique self.
Hope these tips helped you. Be happy and live a great life.
