The Ideal Girl

In today's society, you have to be the 'perfect' girl.

Tall, skinny, pretty, popular, straight white teeth, and smart. These are some things that make an 'ideal' girl. Most of us try to live up to these standards.

They're not even actually standards. They're demands.

So many girls don't know they are naturally interesting and beautiful. By the time we reach our early teens, we are already broken, just wanting some kind of attention or for someone to notice us.
Anyone will do. Often, it's the 'cool' kids or some boy.

We all know how this feels. It's sort of like wearing a total body 'skinsuit'. We change ourselves entirely just so a guy we like will like us back, but we never even consider if he's worth getting to know in the first place. We peer out from this skinsuit we created, hiding, hoping no one looks behind the mask.

I've learned this... if a boy doesn't like you the way you are, don't even bother.
The same goes for friends.

Don't waste your time.

They are not worth your endless effort.

Even if you did somehow get their attention, you will never be able to relax because you were being fake to begin with. Instead, they like that fake version of 'you'. You'll have to keep up that role indefinitely.

Some people lose who they are so deeply their real self is never found... You've seen Real Housewives, right?
You deserve to be truly known.

You don't need to change yourself because you want to look hot or attractive. You're beautiful and perfect just the way you are. The right kind of boys will notice that. The right kind of friends will be drawn to that.

If they can't see your unique awesomeness, they're not going to bring joy to your life anyway.
Let them go.

Have you ever heard "We are born to be real, not perfect" or "No scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful"?
Just remember you have power over yourself.

You're writing your book of life right now. You are the author.
It's up to you to decide where your story is going to go.
